Choose Your Trunking System
Select the right trunking for your installation type below — all systems are designed for concealing AC pipework and cables on domestic and commercial installations.
-
Neat domestic installations (most popular) — Inaba Slimduct
The industry-standard trunking system for domestic split system AC installs. Clean, professional finish with a full range of bends, corners and accessories. Available in white and beige. -
Standard pipe concealment — Inoac Round Trunking
Round plastic trunking for concealing insulated copper pipe and cables on wall surface runs. Simple, cost-effective and widely specified. -
Low-profile & flat duct installs — Sauermann Flat Duct
Flat profile trunking for installations where minimal wall projection is required. Ideal for retrofit installs and tight spaces.
What Size Trunking Do I Need?
Trunking must be large enough to accommodate insulated pipe and control cables. Common sizes by application:
- 65–75mm systems — small domestic installs with a single insulated pipe pair and cable
- 100–110mm systems — standard domestic split system (most common) — fits 1/4" + 5/8" insulated pipe and 3-core cable
- 130–140mm systems — larger domestic or light commercial systems with larger bore pipe
- 150mm+ — commercial and multi-pipe runs, VRF/VRV systems
Always measure insulated pipe OD (pipe + insulation wall thickness) before selecting trunking size. Insulated 5/8" pipe with 13mm wall = approximately 38mm OD.
Where Trunking Fits in the Installation
Trunking is the final surface finish on an AC pipe run — fitted after pipework is insulated and clipped, it conceals and protects the installation for a professional result.
- Step 1 — run copper pipe and control cables between indoor and outdoor units
- Step 2 — apply pipe insulation and seal all joints
- Step 3 — clip pipework using pipe supports and fixings
- Step 4 — fit trunking over insulated pipe run for a clean, finished appearance
Complete the Installation
- Pipe Insulation — insulate pipework before fitting trunking
- AC Copper Pipe — refrigerant-grade pipe for AC systems
- Pipe Supports & Fixings — clip pipework before trunking
- Installation Materials — sealants, cable ties and finishing accessories
