Hidrox™ — Internal Pipework Limescale Remover

Hidrox™ is a descaling treatment for use on closed water systems and cooling towers. By removing all scale and slime, its advanced formulation effectively cleans the entire open water side of a system, increasing the system's efficiency. A pH indicator dye shows when the descaling process is complete.

Key Features

  • For cooling towers, pipework, condensers, water heaters and cast-iron indoor boilers
  • Contains inhibitors to protect metal surfaces
  • Colour indicator to ensure continued protection
  • Ready to use
  • Condensate pump safe
  • 1L makes 34 litres

Special Features

  • Colour indicator to ensure correct usage — water turns red when added, changes to yellow as scale dissolves; add more until water turns red again

Directions for Use

  1. Dose: Add 3 litres of Hidrox™ for each 100 litres of system water (100:3 ratio).
  2. Wait: Allow system to operate normally for 24 to 48 hours with the bleed line turned off, then drain the whole system.
  3. Inspect: For systems that cannot be drained after Hidrox™ treatment, increase bleed rate to 2 or 3 times normal — or dilute unused Hidrox™ and flush out system.
  4. Drain: Allow system water to circulate until it changes again to yellow. Repeat process until system water remains red.

Before using Hidrox™, check its suitability on galvanised surfaces by making a 50/50 solution with water and dabbing on a non-critical surface. If no discolouration occurs, it is safe to continue. Otherwise contact Advanced Engineering.
