Using Vacuum Pumps in AC Commissioning
Vacuum pumps are used after pressure testing to evacuate the system before refrigerant charging. Evacuation removes moisture and non-condensable gases that cause compressor damage, acid formation and reduced efficiency. Connect your vacuum pump via manifold gauges to monitor vacuum depth, and use leak detection equipment to confirm system integrity before charging. For best results, use large-diameter vacuum-rated hoses to reduce evacuation time and improve system performance — evacuate to 500 microns or lower, and 250 microns for R410A and commercial systems.
Choosing the Right Vacuum Pump
