HVAC Vacuum Pumps for Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Professional-grade vacuum pumps for AC commissioning, refrigeration installation, and system evacuation. Stocked for UK engineers working with R32, R410A, R22, and A2L refrigerants.
Correct evacuation is the single most critical step in any AC or refrigeration installation. A vacuum pump that can't reach and hold below 500 microns will leave moisture and non-condensables in the system — leading to compressor failure, poor efficiency, and warranty issues. Every pump in this range is selected for field reliability, not just spec-sheet performance.
What to look for in an HVAC vacuum pump
- CFM rating — match pump capacity to system size. Single-split systems typically need 3–6 CFM; multi-split and commercial systems benefit from 8 CFM+.
- Ultimate vacuum depth — look for pumps rated to 15 microns or below for reliable deep evacuation.
- A2L compatibility — essential for R32 systems. All A2L-rated pumps in this range are suitable for use with mildly flammable refrigerants.
- Oil type — use manufacturer-recommended vacuum pump oil and change it regularly. Contaminated oil is the most common cause of poor vacuum performance.
- Inlet connection — most HVAC vacuum pumps use 1/4" and 3/8" SAE flare fittings, compatible with standard manifold gauge sets.
Brands stocked
We stock Javac and Mastercool vacuum pumps — two of the most trusted names in HVAC tooling. Javac pumps are particularly well regarded for their durability in high-volume commercial environments. Mastercool offers a strong range of dual-stage pumps suited to both domestic and light commercial work.

For accurate evacuation, pair your vacuum pump with a micron gauge — a manifold gauge alone cannot confirm system cleanliness. See also our manifold gauge sets, nitrogen pressure testing equipment, and full evacuation guide.
