  • Leaded alloy — for non-potable water, heating, and industrial applications only
  • Alloy 136 (Pb74Sn25Sb1) — EN-ISO 9453:2014
  • 25% Tin, 74% Lead, 1% Antimony
  • Melting range: 185–263°C
  • 3mm diameter — standard trade size
  • 500g reel, solid wire format
  • Use with Lawton non-acid flux paste (SOL-FLF113 / SOL-FLF453)

How to Solder Copper Fittings

  1. Cut and deburr — cut the copper pipe cleanly and remove the internal burr with a reamer or deburring tool.
  2. Clean — clean the pipe end and fitting socket with wire wool or emery cloth until bright.
  3. Apply flux — apply Lawton flux paste to both the pipe end and fitting socket using the brush in the cap.
  4. Heat evenly — apply heat evenly around the fitting with a blowtorch until the flux bubbles and the copper reaches soldering temperature.
  5. Apply solder — touch the solder wire to the joint (not the flame). The solder will be drawn in by capillary action. Apply until a complete ring is visible around the fitting.
  6. Cool and clean — allow to cool undisturbed. Wipe away flux residue with a damp cloth.
