What is the SPARTAN digital manifold?

What's the difference between 2-way and 4-way SPARTAN manifolds?

  • 2-way manifolds have connections for high side, low side, and centre port (1/4" m-flare connections)
  • 4-way manifolds add a dedicated vacuum port (3/8" m-flare) for enhanced vacuum performance and faster evacuation
  • Both feature the same touchscreen, sensors, and Bluetooth capabilities

Which SPARTAN model should I choose?

  • Manifold only (99923-BT, 99943-BT): For technicians who already have hoses and clamps
  • With hoses (99926-BT, 99946-BT): Includes 60" (150cm) hoses and 1 temperature clamp
  • With 2 clamps (99926-BT-2, 99946-BT-2): Includes 60" (150cm) hoses and 2 temperature clamps for superheat/subcool measurements

Which refrigerants are supported?

Over 60 pre-programmed refrigerants including: R12, R22, R134a, R1234yf, R410A, R404A, R407C, R290, R600a, and many more. The complete list includes all common CFC, HCFC, HFC, and natural refrigerants.

What is the vacuum sensor accuracy?

The premium built-in vacuum sensor has a range of 20,000 to 1 micron with exceptional accuracy, eliminating the need for separate vacuum gauges.

What is the pressure accuracy?

  • Sensing Resolution: 1 psi (.07 bar, .007 MPa, .07 kg/cm2)
  • Sensing Accuracy: ±1 psi or 1% of reading (whichever is greater)
  • Working Pressure: 0 to 725 psi (50 bar)
  • Proof Pressure: 1000 psi (70 bar)

How long does the battery last?

30-36 hours of normal use (25-30 hours with Bluetooth enabled). The manifold uses a rechargeable Li-Ion battery (3.7V / 8.14 Wh) charged via USB Type C.

What is the Bluetooth range?

260' (80m) maximum line-of-sight range using Bluetooth 4.2 and 5.

Setup & Operation

How do I connect to the Mastercool Connect app?

  1. Download the free Mastercool Connect app on your compatible device
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your device
  3. Power on your SPARTAN manifold
  4. Open the app and follow the pairing instructions
  5. The manifold will connect automatically for future sessions

Does the SPARTAN automatically calculate superheat and subcool?

Yes! When temperature clamps are connected, the SPARTAN automatically calculates and displays superheat and subcool temperatures based on the selected refrigerant.

How much data can I log?

The SPARTAN can record and store up to 36 hours of data to the manifold's internal memory.

What is the auto-off feature?

The manifold automatically powers off after 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. It also has a sleep mode after 4 minutes of inactivity.

Compatibility

Can I use SPARTAN with R1234yf?

Yes! The SPARTAN is fully compatible with R1234yf (the new environmental standard for vehicles registered after 2017) as well as R134a and over 60 other refrigerants.

What hose connections does it use?

  • 2-way models: 1/4" m-flare connections
  • 4-way models: 1/4" m-flare connections plus 3/8" m-flare vacuum port
  • Temperature clamps use K-type connectors

Can I use my existing hoses with SPARTAN?

Yes, if you purchase the manifold-only version. The SPARTAN uses standard 1/4" m-flare connections compatible with most professional A/C hoses.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

How do I charge the battery?

Connect the supplied USB Type C cable to the manifold and a USB power source. A full charge provides 30-36 hours of operation.

Can I replace the battery?

The battery is rechargeable and designed for long-term use. For battery replacement, please contact Mastercool or an authorised service centre.

How do I calibrate the sensors?

The SPARTAN features simple calibration through the touchscreen menu. Refer to your instruction manual for detailed calibration procedures.

What if my Bluetooth won't connect?

  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device
  • Check that the manifold is powered on
  • Ensure you're within the 260' (80m) range
  • Try restarting both the manifold and your device
  • Check for app updates in your device's app store

How do I clean my SPARTAN manifold?

Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid getting moisture in the ports or charging connector. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
