The Daikin Perfera 5.0kW (FTXM50A / RXM50A8) is a premium wall mounted split system designed for larger residential rooms and light commercial spaces. Combining 5.0kW cooling and 5.8kW heating output with A++ seasonal efficiency, built-in Wi-Fi control and Daikin's Flash Streamer air purification technology, the Perfera delivers a level of comfort and air quality that goes well beyond a standard air conditioning system.
Supplied as a complete package — indoor unit, outdoor condensing unit and remote controller — this system is ready for installation by an F-Gas certified installation company.

As a general guide, the 5.0kW Perfera is suitable for rooms of approximately 45–55 m². Actual capacity requirements depend on insulation standard, glazing area, ceiling height, solar gain, occupancy and internal heat loads. For commercial applications or rooms with unusual characteristics, a qualified engineer should carry out a full heat load calculation in accordance with CIBSE guidance.

Recommended Installation Accessories
To complete the installation, your engineer will typically require the following — all available from Airconspares:
- Pair coil — pre-insulated refrigerant pipework in the correct diameter for this system (1/4" liquid / 1/2" gas)
- Wall brackets or ground mounting feet — for secure outdoor unit installation
- Anti-vibration mounts — to reduce structure-borne noise from the outdoor unit
- PVC trunking — to protect and conceal pipework and cables on the external wall
- Condensate pump — required where gravity drainage from the indoor unit is not available (Aspen Mini Orange or equivalent)
- Condensate drain hose — flexible hose for indoor unit drainage
- Local isolator switch — required by Part P of the Building Regulations
- Interconnecting cable — 3 core + earth, 1.5 mm², to connect indoor and outdoor units

Does this system include installation?
No. This listing is for the equipment only. Installation must be carried out by an appropriately F-Gas certified installation company. Airconspares can supply all installation materials separately.
Does this system include refrigerant?
The outdoor unit is factory charged with R32 refrigerant for the stated precharged pipe length of 10 metres. Additional refrigerant may be required for longer pipe runs in accordance with the installation manual, at a rate of 20 g/m.
Is the Wi-Fi adaptor included as standard?
Yes. The FTXM50A includes a built-in Wi-Fi adaptor. No additional module is required. Control is via the Daikin Onecta app, available for iOS and Android.
What refrigerant does this system use?
R32. This is a lower global warming potential refrigerant compared to R410A. Handling requires F-Gas certification.
Can this system heat as well as cool?
Yes. The Perfera operates as a reverse-cycle heat pump, providing both cooling and heating. It is effective for heating down to -21°C outdoor ambient temperature.
