Javac JAV-1558 CO₂ Transcritical Service Manifold Kit
Specifically designed for use on modern CO₂ (R744) refrigeration systems, where higher operating pressures demand equipment you can rely on. Built around a durable two-valve manifold rated for high-side pressures up to 160 bar, this kit is suitable for both sub-critical and transcritical CO₂ applications. The integrated purge valve allows safe depressurisation of all three lines and the manifold after closing service valves and before disconnecting — preventing dangerous pressure build-up at ambient temperatures. Supplied complete with three 1.5m steel mesh reinforced hoses and stored in a Veto Pro Pac AX3685 Hose Hauler bag for professional on-site use.
Key Features
- 160 Bar High Side Rating — suitable for transcritical CO₂ systems operating above the critical point
- 100 Bar Low Side Rating — covers all sub-critical and transcritical CO₂ operating pressures
- Proven Double O-Ring Piston Control — reliable valve operation under high-pressure CO₂ conditions
- Integrated Purge Valve — safely drain all three lines and the manifold before disconnecting; prevents dangerous CO₂ pressure build-up during storage and transport
- Large 80mm Gauges with Protection Boots — easy to read under pressure; rugged boots for on-site durability
- 3× 1.5m Double Layer Steel Mesh Reinforced Hoses — rated to 160 bar safe working pressure; spring protection at connections
- R744 Rated Throughout — manifold, hoses and fittings all rated for CO₂ service
- Veto Pro Pac Hose Hauler (5-Year Warranty) — purpose-built HVAC-R bag; protect, transport and store in style
- 10× CD-109-06 Copper Flare Washers Included — use new washers on every connection for leak-free service

Safety Information
- CO₂ (R744) is dangerous and can be harmful to your health — use in a well-ventilated area
- CO₂ (R744) can cause suffocation — ensure adequate ventilation at all times
- Liquid CO₂ can cause cold burns — use appropriate PPE including safety goggles and gloves at all times
- This manifold kit is for the service and testing of sub-critical and transcritical CO₂ systems only
- Must only be used by suitably qualified and trained personnel
- Ensure CO₂ is NOT trapped in the manifold or hoses — trapped CO₂ can burst and damage equipment, creating a dangerous situation
- Maximum design pressure: 160 bar (high side only). Keep pressure below 100 bar on the low side
- Inspect the condition of the manifold, gauges and hoses before every use
Assembly & Operating Instructions
Assembly and Preparation
- Unpack and inspect the manifold and hoses.
- Connect the flexible hoses to both the manifold outlets (#4, 5 & 6) and closed system valves using new copper sealing washers (SKY part no. 109-04 × 10 supplied).
- Turn the manifold's control valves (#1, 2 and 3) clockwise to the closed position.
Operating on a Live System
- Open the service valves on the system slowly while observing the respective gauges to ensure system working pressures are not higher than the manifold rating (#7 low side 100 bar, #8 high side 160 bar).
- Using caution, purge the air from both lines.
- Once system valves are open, analyse the system performance.
- To add refrigerant: connect the refrigerant cylinder to port #5. Using control knob #2, allow CO₂ refrigerant to enter the system until the desired outcome is reached. Use caution not to increase the low side pressure above 100 bar.
- To remove refrigerant: connect the refrigerant cylinder to port #5. Using control knob #3, allow CO₂ refrigerant to enter the external cylinder until the desired outcome is reached.
Packing Up
- Close the manifold valves #1, 2 and 3.
- Close the system valves.
- Open the purge valve #1 to drain all three lines and the manifold, and leave open.
- It is now safe to disconnect all lines and pack the manifold and hoses back in the Hose Hauler.
