Why R32 Requires Specialist Tools
R32 is classified as an A2L refrigerant — mildly flammable with a lower global warming potential (GWP) of 675 compared to R410A at 2,088. Under F-Gas regulations, all tools used with A2L refrigerants must be rated and approved by the manufacturer for use with flammable refrigerants. Using standard R410A tools with R32 systems is not compliant and may be unsafe.

F-Gas Compliance for R32 Work
All work involving R32 refrigerant must be carried out by F-Gas certified engineers. R32 systems must be pressure tested with nitrogen before evacuation, evacuated to 500 microns or below, and charged by weight using calibrated refrigerant scales. Leak detection equipment rated for A2L refrigerants must be used for post-charge leak checks.
